Biography

Norwegian soprano Frida Augusta Gudim completed her Master’s degree in Opera at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2026, under the guidance of Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz. She has also studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Cinzia Alessandroni.

In January 2026, Gudim made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in the roles of Hebe and Zima in Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes, a production directed by Jacopo Spirei and conducted by Julio Caballero. Her recent operatic roles include Amina in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo, and Ophelia in Thomas’ Hamlet.

Alongside her operatic work, Gudim is an experienced concert soloist, with a particular sentiment for the sacred repertoire. Her performances include Handel’s Messiah, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Rutters Requiem, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

In September 2026, she was a finalist in the Traetta Baroque Competition in Bitonto, Italy. Her interest in early music repertoire will also take her to Austria in the summer of 2027, where she will appear as a soloist at the Retz Baroque Festival near Vienna.
